Raised on our feed, but not certified as Organic. Young, Healthy, Livestock. Please be advised that "Straight Run" Poultry means Un-Sexed. Our animals are handled constantly, have been weighed, tagged and photographed as they grow. We care about how they grow up and hope you find that extra effort appreciated when you get your animals settled in. These are our representatives out in the world.
These are a special line from Ama-Lurra's foundation stock going back several generations. These are pedigreed and bred carefully for temperament, body to egg size and gorgeous plumage and egg color. The roosters are exceptional and are excellent Flock Animals, being also friendly towards humans. As these are not a recognized breed and come of crossing many different breeds for favored traits (colored eggs!), they also have great vigor that you wont generally get with purebreds.
These girls carry forward our carefully selected for pedigrees for temperament, body to egg size, gorgeous plumage and egg color. They tend to lay at about 4.5 months of age and you should expect them to lay at least 180-220 eggs per year.
These amazing young hens are a special line from Ama-Lurra's foundation stock going back several generations. These are pedigreed and carefully selected for temperament, body to egg size and gorgeous plumage and egg color. These will be laying already and the egg colors will be quite a nice selection between individuals. With good feed they should mature into heavy layers and do so well past 4 years of age. One of the foundation hens is still laying at 7 years old!
These young roosters are a special line from Ama-Lurra's foundation stock going back several generations. These are pedigreed and bred carefully for temperament, body to egg size and gorgeous plumage and egg color. These young men are exceptional and throw great colored eggs, plumage, and are excellent Flock Animals, being also friendly towards humans. Its very nice to have roosters as they add a whole dimension to owning chickens, with some very interesting antics! Ours are quite lovable!
Occasionally, we will sell a hen or two. These would be 2 years old or more and while not prime layers will contribute several more years of solid egg laying (at least 150-180 eggs per year) and bring exceptional bloodlines to your flock.
The hens of Marans, France are known to lay the darkest eggs in the poultry world. From deep red to a dark mahogany brown, their eggs make for a lovely contrast in your egg basket. Lovely feathered footed ladies, French style Marans can be nearly any color, though only a few colors are recognized by poultry associations. Mostly docile, they also can go broody but for the egg color, worth the trouble to most poultry keepers. Marans are moderate-heavy layers also, laying 150-200 eggs per year

These young ladies have been specially selected to have both blue inside their egg shell to show through a brown outer layer, creating an interesting blend of that blue and that outer brown. Their eggs make for a lovely contrast in your egg basket. Part of our Easter Egger line, they share most of those characteristics, vigor, moderately heavy layers and good body weight. The line we work with has long egg laying life past 6 years.
Our ducklings carry very excellent bloodlines. They are a barnyard mix of Pekin, Duclaire, Magpie, Golden 300, Swedish and probably a few more breeds hidden in there.
These are excellent layers of 80+ gram eggs, some are daily and often start well before the usual 8 months for ducks (some less than 5 months!) and have truly nice weight gain by 4 months.

Truly beautiful birds, these are QUIET and can be kept in quite limited space with limited feed.
They are delicate in the first week or two, but once they are a month or two quite hardy.
They reach maturity at about 3 months, with near full body weight gain and hens are laying then as well.
These are mature, about 3 months, with near full body weight gain and hens are laying then as well. Males a bit more slow growing, but for the most part are ready for you to add to a breeding crate to start your own flock.
These are at or near maturity, about 3 months, with near full body weight gain and hens ready to lay fertile eggs.
The great thing about quail is that they only need 6x6" per bird, don't make any serious noise, eat very little, and can lay quite well with an Infrared bulb nearby to keep 'days' about 12-14 hours.
We have specially selected these sets from distinct families from the eggs of different breeders for genetic diversity.

This is a heritage breed and well sought after. These originate in SE Asia where they lived under farmers huts and had to be easy to deal with. A short nosed pig that roots very little and also not more than 175 lbs. Finished on fruit the meat is exquisite
The Tunis is a Middle Eastern type fat-tailed sheep, triple purpose (Meat, Milk, Fiber). The wool is second only to Merino, and if that weren't great enough they are probably the most easy-going breed, ever. Hardy and easy to handle they are an excellent Farmstead breed.
First brought here as a gift to George Washington from the Bey of Tunis, they are rapidly becoming popular with the sustainability movement
A sweet, gentle cow without the American genetic mutation that causes most lactose intolerance problems, this small cow produces oodles of rich milk. The bulls are equally gentle and nothing like the usual US stock. Great size for a small family farm
